Ahmad, alias P K Parakkadavu, was born to Ponnankodu Hassan and Maryam on
15th October 1952 at Parakkadav in Vadakara Taluk. After his education at Farook
College, he was in the Gulf countries for some time.  He is a member of the
General Council of the Sahitya Akademi and the Executive Committee of
the Kerala Sahitya Akademi and the Samastha Kerala Sahitya Parishad. When
Kalburgi and other eminent activists were murdered, he resigned from the
Sahitya Akademi in protest against the silence of the government and the
Akademi. He served as the Periodicals Editor of the Madhyamam Daily and the
Director of Editorial Relations. He was also the Director of the First Madhyamam
Literary Fest.
He has published 45 books and has also edited one book each on OV Vijayan and
Vaikom Muhammad Basheer. Mounathinde Nilavili, Thiranjedutha Kathakal,
Idiminnalukalude Pranayam, Minnal Kathakal are but a few of his famous works.
His works have been translated into English, Arabic and various Indian languages.
He is the recipient of Kerala Sahitya Akademi’s Award for Outstanding
Contribution, Kerala Language Institute’s Basheer Memorial Award, SBT Award,
Ayanam CV Sriraman Award and Abu Dhabi Malayalam Samajam Award.

പി.കെ.പാറക്കടവ്

പേര് അഹമദ്. വടകര താലൂക്കിലെ പാറക്കടവിൽ 1952 ഒക്ടോബർ 15ന് ജനനം. പിതാവ് പൊന്നങ്കോട്ട് ഹസൻ.മാതാവ് മറിയം.ഫാറൂഖ് കോളേജിൽ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം. കുറച്ചു കാലം ഗൾഫ് നാടുകളിലായിരുന്നു. കേരള സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി നിർവ്വാഹക സമിതി അംഗവും കേന്ദ്ര സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി അംഗവുമായിരുന്നു. സമസ്ത കേരള സാഹിത്യ പരിഷത്ത് നിർവാഹക സമിതി അംഗമായിരുന്നു.

കൽബുർഗി അടക്കമുള്ള എഴുത്തുകാർ വധിക്കപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ കേന്ദ്ര സർക്കാറിൻ്റെയും അക്കാദമിയുടെയും മൗനത്തിൽ പ്രതിഷേധിച്ചു് കേന്ദ്ര സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി സ്ഥാനം രാജിവെച്ചു.

മാധ്യമം പീരിയോഡിക്കൽ സ് എഡിറ്ററായും എഡിറ്റോറിയൽ റിലേഷൻസ്
ഡയരക്ടറായും പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. പ്രഥമ മാധ്യമം ലിറ്റററി ഫെസ്റ്റിന്റെ
ഡയറക്ടറായിരുന്നു.

മൗനത്തിൻ്റെ നിലവിളി ,തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്ത കഥകൾ, ഇടിമിന്നലുകളുടെ പ്രണയം, മിന്നൽ കഥകൾ തുടങ്ങി 45 (നാൽപ്പത്തിഅഞ്ചു) പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ
പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.കൂടാതെ ഒ.വി.വിജയനെക്കുറിച്ചും വൈക്കം മുഹമ്മദ്
ബഷീറിനെ ക്കുറിച്ചും ഓരോ പുസ്തകം എഡിറ്റു ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.

കഥകൾ ഇംഗ്ലീഷിലും അറബിയിലും വിവിധ ഇന്ത്യൻ ഭാഷകളിലും വിവർത്തനം ചെയ്തു വന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്.

കേരള സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമിയുടെ സമഗ്ര സംഭാവനയ്ക്കുള്ള പുരസ്കാരം, കേരള ഭാഷാ ഇൻസ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ടിൻ്റെ ബഷീർ സ്മാരക അവാർഡ്, എസ്.ബി.ടി.അവാർഡ്, അയനം സി.വി.ശ്രീരാമൻ അവാർഡ് ,അബൂദാബി മലയാളം സമാജം അവാർഡ് തുടങ്ങി ഒട്ടേറെ പുരസ്കാരങ്ങൾ ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട് .
