Echom Gopi

Farmer, Writer, Film enthusiast. 

Echom Gopi is a Malayalam writer, with short stories and poems published in various periodicals. His deep commitment to agrarian life was recognized with the Farmer Award in 2018, and the Environmental Award in 2021.

Beyond his literary and agricultural pursuits, Gopi has made valuable contributions to the arts. He served as a Director Board member of the State Film Corporation for over ten years and has directed a telefilm set in Wayanad. D.C. Books has published a collection of letters sent to him by the celebrated Malayalam writer Vaikom Muhammad Basheer.

വിവിധ ആനുകാലികങ്ങളിൽ ചെറുകഥകളും കവിതകളും പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചു.  കൃഷിയോടും പരിസ്ഥിതിയോടുമുള്ള  അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ അഗാധമായ പ്രതിബദ്ധതയ്ക്ക് 2018-ൽ ഫാർമർ അവാർഡും  2021-ൽ പരിസ്ഥിതി അവാർഡും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ തേടിയെത്തി.

കലാമേഖലയിലും നിരവധി സംഭാവനകൾ നൽകി. സംസ്ഥാന ചലച്ചിത്ര വികസന കോർപ്പറേഷന്റെ ഡയറക്ടർ ബോർഡ് അംഗമായി പത്ത് വർഷത്തിലേറെക്കാലം സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചു. വയനാടിനെ ആസ്പദമാക്കി ഒരു ടെലിഫിലിം സംവിധാനം ചെയ്തു. പ്രശസ്ത എഴുത്തുകാരൻ വൈക്കം മുഹമ്മദ് ബഷീർ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് അയച്ച കത്തുകളുടെ സമാഹാരം ഡി.സി. ബുക്സ് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
