Sithara S is a Malayalam writer, editor, translator, and journalist, from Thalassery, Kannur District, Kerala. She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism and Communication and a Post-graduation in English Language and Literature.
Sithara is known for her extensive contributions to Malayalam literature, particularly in short stories. Her first published work was “Agniyum Kathakalum” (1999). Her other notable short story collections include “Veshappakarcha,” “Idam,” “Nruthashaala,” “Kathakal,” “Veyilil oru kaliyezhuthukaari,” and “Karutha kuppayakkari,” and “Amlam.” She has also published articles in collections such as “Etho yuranusil oru sivanum gangayum,” “Vaal nakshathrangalude vaimanikan,” and “Ushna grahangalude sneham.”
Her literary achievements have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Kendra Sahitya Academy Golden Jubilee Young Writers’ Award, the Kerala Sahitya Academy Gita Hiranyan Endowment Award, the C.V. Sreeraman Memorial Award, the V.P. Sivakumar Memorial Keli Award, the New Delhi “Katha” Award, and the “Vanitha” Award.

കണ്ണൂർ ജില്ലയിലെ തലശ്ശേരിയിൽ നിന്നുള്ള പ്രഗൽഭയായ എഴുത്തുകാരിയും വിവർത്തകയും പത്രപ്രവർത്തകയും. ജേർണലിസം ആൻഡ് കമ്മ്യൂണിക്കേഷനിൽ ബിരുദാനന്തര ഡിപ്ലോമയും ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ഭാഷയിലും സാഹിത്യത്തിലും ബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദവും നേടി.
മലയാള ചെറുകഥാ രംഗത്ത് സിതാര നൽകിയിട്ടുള്ള സംഭാവനകൾ ശ്രദ്ധേയമാണ്. 1999-ൽ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച ‘അഗ്നിയും കഥകളും’ ആണ് ആദ്യ പുസ്തകം. വേഷപ്പകർച്ച, ഇടം, നൃത്തശാല, കഥകൾ, വെയിലിൽ ഒരു കളിയെഴുത്തുകാരി, കറുത്ത കുപ്പായക്കാരി, അമ്ലം എന്നിവയാണ് മറ്റ് ചെറുകഥാ സമാഹാരങ്ങൾ. ഏതോ യുറാനസ്സിൽ ഒരു ശിവനും ഗംഗയും, വാൽനക്ഷത്രങ്ങളുടെ വൈമാനികൻ, ഉഷ്ണ ഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ സ്നേഹം തുടങ്ങിയ ലേഖന സമാഹാരങ്ങളും പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചു.
യുവ എഴുത്തുകാർക്കുള്ള സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി സുവർണ്ണ ജൂബിലി അവാർഡ്, കേരള സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി ഗീതാ ഹിരണ്യൻ എൻഡോവ്മെന്റ് അവാർഡ്, സി.വി. ശ്രീരാമൻ സ്മാരക അവാർഡ്, വി.പി. ശിവകുമാർ സ്മാരക കേളി അവാർഡ്, ന്യൂ ഡൽഹി-കഥ അവാർഡ്, വനിത- കഥ അവാർഡ് എന്നീ അംഗീകാരങ്ങൾക്ക് അർഹയായി.
