Shaijith VM was the Delhi Special Correspondent and Political Editor of Free Press Magazine, which was published from Delhi. He has worked in Malayalam media for over one and a half decades, serving as the Sports and Business Editorial In-charge for various newspapers. He also worked as the Wayanad Bureau Chief for Deepika newspaper and was a member of the editorial boards of Kerala Kaumudi, Kaumudi Flash, Janayugam, Deepika, and Gokulamshree Magazine.

After leaving journalism, he has been a government employee for the past six years. Currently, he works as a Village Extension Officer at Edavaka Panchayat. He hails from Vellamunda, Wayanad.

ഡൽഹിയിൽ നിന്ന് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരുന്ന ഫ്രീ പ്രസ് മാഗസിന്റെ ഡൽഹി സ്പെഷൽ കറസ്പോണ്ടന്റും പൊളിറ്റിക്കൽ എഡിറ്ററുമായിരുന്നു ഷൈജിത് വി. എം. വിവിധ പത്രങ്ങളിലെ സ്പോർട്സ്, ബിസിനസ് എഡിറ്റോറിയൽ ഇൻചാർജായിരുന്ന ഷൈജിത്ത് ഒന്നര പതിറ്റാാണ്ടിലേറെ മലയാളം മാധ്യമരംഗത്ത് ജോലി ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. ദീപിക പത്രത്തിന്റെ വയനാട് ബ്യുറോ ചീഫായും ജോലി ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്. കേരള കൌമുദി, കൌമുദി ഫ്ളാഷ്, ജനയുഗം, ദീപിക, ഗോകുലംശ്രീ മാഗസിൻ എന്നിവയിൽ പത്രാധിപ സമിതി അംഗമായിരുന്നു. 

മാധ്യമപ്രവർത്തനം അവസാനിപ്പിച്ച ശേഷം കഴിഞ്ഞ ആറു വർഷമായി സർക്കാർ ജീവനക്കാരനാണ്. ഇപ്പോൾ എടവക പഞ്ചായത്തിൽ വില്ലേജ് എക്സ്റ്റൻഷൻ ഓഫീസറായി ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്നു. വയനാട് വെള്ളമുണ്ട സ്വദേശിയാണ്.
