O.R. Kelu

Minister, Tribal Welfare Activist, CPI(M) Leader

O.R. Kelu is a member of the CPI(M) State Committee and the Minister for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare in Kerala. He serves as the State President of the Adivasi Welfare Committee and represents the Mananthavady constituency in the Legislative Assembly.

Kelu has held various positions, including member of the CPI(M) Mananthavady Area Committee, President of Thirunelly Grama Panchayat, member of Mananthavady Block Panchayat, and Secretary of the Adivasi Welfare Committee’s Mananthavady Area. He served as a member of the Thirunelly Grama Panchayat for ten years.

He has been elected to the Legislative Assembly from Mananthavady twice. Belonging to the Kurichya tribal community, Kelu has worked as both a farmer and a daily wage laborer.

സിപിഐ (എം) സംസ്ഥാന സമിതി അംഗവും കേരളത്തിന്റെ പട്ടിക ജാതി പട്ടിക വർഗ വകുപ്പ് മന്ത്രിയുമാണ് ഒ.ആർ. കേളു. ആദിവാസി ക്ഷേമ സമിതിയുടെ സംസ്ഥാന പ്രസിഡന്റാണ്. മാനന്തവാടി നിയമസഭാ മണ്ഡലത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള സാമാജികനാണ് കേളു.  

സിപിഐ(എം) മാനന്തവാടി ഏരിയാ കമ്മിറ്റി അംഗം, തിരുനെല്ലി ഗ്രാമ പഞ്ചായത്ത് പ്രസിഡന്റ്, മാനന്തവാടി ബ്ലോക്ക് പഞ്ചായത്ത് മെമ്പർ, ആദിവാസി ക്ഷേമ സമിതിയുടെ മാനന്തവാടി ഏരിയാ സെക്രട്ടറി എന്നീ നിലകളിൽ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. പത്ത് വർഷം തിരുനെല്ലി ഗ്രാമ പഞ്ചായത്ത് അംഗമായി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. 

മാനന്തവാടിയിൽ നിന്ന് രണ്ട് തവണ നിയമസഭയിലേക്കെത്തി. കുറിച്യ ഗോത്രത്തിൽ നിന്നുള്ള കേളു കർഷകനും ദിവസക്കൂലിക്കാരനായും പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
