M. Gangadharan

Teacher, Editor, Environmental Activist

Hailing from Wayanad, M. Gangadharan has served as a book editor, teacher, and editor of periodicals. He holds postgraduate degrees in English Literature and Education. He pursued his studies at Sacred Heart College, Ernakulam; St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri and Government Training College, Thalassery. He also received English training at RIE Bangalore and CIEFL.

M. Gangadharan worked as an English teacher at Pulpally Vijaya Higher Secondary School. After retirement, he continued his service at St. George TTI, Pulpally, St. Gregorios B.Ed College, Meenangadi, and S.N. College, Pulpally.

He has undertaken study tours to Scandinavian countries and Switzerland. With long-standing contributions to the environmental and educational sectors, he also served as the Wayanad District Coordinator for environmental clubs.

He has edited notable works, including ‘T.R. Kathakal’ published by DC Books in 2001 and ‘Pathiyil Maranja Pournami’ published by Neermathalam. He was one of the key figures behind Nila Publications, which operated in Ernakulam. In the 1970s, he served as an associate editor for MOB, a magazine published in Wayanad.

അധ്യാപകൻ, എഡിറ്റർ, പരിസ്ഥിതി പ്രവർത്തകൻ

വയനാട് സ്വദേശിയായ എം. ഗംഗാധരൻ പുസ്തകങ്ങളുടെ എഡിറ്റർ, അധ്യാപകൻ, പത്രാധിപർ എന്നീ നിലകളിൽ പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. 

ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് സാഹിത്യത്തിലും വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിലും ബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദം.   സേക്രട്ട്  ഹാർട്ട്  കോളേജ് എറണാകുളം, സെൻറ് ജോസഫ് കോളേജ് ദേവഗിരി, ഗവ ട്രൈനിംഗ് കോളേജ്, തലശ്ശേരി എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ പഠിച്ചു. ആർ ഐ ഇ ബാംഗ്ലൂർ, സിഐ ഇ എഫ് എൽ എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്ഭാഷാ പരിശീലനം നേടി. 

പുൽപ്പള്ളി വിജയ ഹയർ സെക്കൻഡറി സ്കൂളിലെ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് അധ്യാപകനായിരുന്നു.  വിരമിച്ചതിനു ശേഷം സെൻറ് ജോർജ് ടി  ടി ഐ, പുൽപ്പള്ളി, സെൻറ് ഗ്രിഗോറിയസ് ബി എഡ് കോളേജ് മീനങ്ങാടി, എസ് എൻ കോളേജ്, പുൽപ്പള്ളി എന്നീ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളിൽ സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചു.

 സ്കാൻഡിനേവിയൻ രാജ്യങ്ങൾ സ്വിറ്റ്സർലാൻഡ് എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിൽ പഠനപര്യടനം  നടത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. പരിസ്ഥിതി- വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ മേഖലയിൽ ദീർഘകാലത്തെ പ്രവർത്തനം നടത്തി.  പരിസ്ഥിതി ക്ലബ്ബുകളുടെ വയനാട് ജില്ലാ കോഡിനേറ്റർ ആയി പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.  ഡിസി ബുക്സ് 2001 പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച ‘ടി ആർ കഥകൾ’,  നീർമാതളം പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ച ‘പാതിയിൽ മറഞ്ഞ പൗർണമി’ എന്നീ കൃതികൾ എഡിറ്റ് ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.  എറണാകുളത്ത് പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരുന്ന നിള പബ്ലിക്കേഷൻസിന്റ് സാരഥികളിൽ ഒരാളായിരുന്നു. 70-കളിൽ വയനാട്ടിൽ നിന്ന് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരുന്ന മോബ് മാസികയുടെ സഹ പത്രാധിപരായിരുന്നു.
