SUNIL. P. ELAYIDOM
Orator, essayist, critic.
Sunil P. Elayidom is a famous writer, critic , orator and a university professor. He is also well known for his lectures on contemporary politics, literature, art, epics and culture. Elayidom has published many works on art , literary criticism, history, Marxism and Culture. His major works include ‘Kanvazhikal’, ‘Kazhchavattangal’, ‘Uriyattom’, ‘Anubhuthikalude Charithra Jeevitham’, ‘Nanarthangal: Samooham’, ‘Mahabharatam- Samskarika Charithram’ and more. Elayidom has also presented academic papers at seminars and has delivered several lectures, including a five-part lecture series on the cultural history of Mahabharatha. He has received the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Scholarly Literature in 2006 and the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award for Literary Criticism for his book, ‘Ajnjathavumayulla Abhimukhangal’ in 2013. He has also received the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi Kesari Award in 2011 and MN Vijayan Memorial Endowment Award in 2016. The Purogamana Kala Sahitya Sangham awarded him the A Sudhakaran Cultural Award in 2016. He is the recipient of Chintha Raveendran Memorial Award (2017), Mullanezhi Sahitya Puraskaram (2019) and the Mahakavi Ulloor Memorial Literary Award (2021).

കേരളത്തിലെ സാംസ്കാരിക വിമർശകരിൽ ശ്രദ്ധേയൻ. എഴുത്തുകാരൻ, നിരൂപകൻ, പ്രഭാഷകൻ എന്നീ നിലകളിൽ തന്റേതായ വ്യക്തിമുദ്ര പതിപ്പിച്ചു. കല, സാഹിത്യ, രാഷ്ട്രീയ, സാംസ്കാരിക മേഖലകളിൽ നടത്തിയ പ്രഭാഷണങ്ങളിലൂടെ ശ്രദ്ധേയനായി. ചരിത്രം, മാർക്സിസം, കല, നിരൂപണം, ഇതിഹാസ ചരിത്രം തുടങ്ങിയ വിഷയങ്ങളിൽ ഒട്ടേറെ പുസ്തകങ്ങളും പഠനങ്ങളും പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
‘കൺവഴികൾ കാഴ്ചവട്ടങ്ങൾ’, ‘ഉരിയാട്ടം’, ‘അനുഭൂതികളുടെ ചരിത്ര ജീവിതം’, ‘നാനാർത്ഥങ്ങൾ’, മഹാഭാരതം- സാംസ്കാരിക ചരിത്രം’ എന്നിവ പ്രധാന കൃതികൾ. മഹാഭാരതത്തിന്റെ സാംസ്കാരിക ചരിത്രത്തെ സംബന്ധിച്ച് സുനിൽ പി ഇളയിടം നടത്തിയ പ്രഭാഷണ പരമ്പര ശ്രദ്ധേയമായിരുന്നു.
2006 -ൽ മികച്ച വൈജ്ഞാനിക സാഹിത്യത്തിനുള്ള കേരള സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി അവാർഡും, 2013-ൽ ‘അജ്ഞാതവുമായുള്ള അഭിമുഖങ്ങൾ’ എന്ന കൃതിക്ക് മികച്ച സാഹിത്യ നിരൂപകനുള്ള കേരള സാഹിത്യ അക്കാദമി അവാർഡും ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. കേരള ലളിതകല അക്കാദമി കേസരി പുരസ്‌കാരം (2011), എം. എൻ വിജയൻ മെമ്മോറിയൽ എൻഡോവ്മെന്റ് അവാർഡ് (2016), പു.ക.സയുടെ എ. സുധാകരൻ കൾചറൽ അവാർഡ് (2016), ചിന്ത രവീന്ദ്രൻ മെമ്മോറിയൽ അവാർഡ് (2017), മുല്ലനേഴി സാഹിത്യ പുരസ്‌കാരം (2019), മഹാകവി ഉള്ളൂർ സ്മാരക സാഹിത്യ പുരസ്‌കാരം (2021) തുടങ്ങിയ നിരവധി പുരസ്കാരങ്ങൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ തേടിയെത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
