Josy Joseph is an Indian investigative journalist and author. Born on 6 May 1974 in
Cherthala, he is the founder of Confluence Media, a platform-agnostic investigative
journalism organisation. He graduated from NSS College, Cherthala, in Mathematics,
Physics, and Statistics, and has a post-graduate diploma in journalism. He also holds a
Master’s in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy,
Tufts University. He is an adjunct faculty at OP Jindal Global University.
 
Joseph’s reportage and writing have fostered great public interest and debate on
questions of democracy and polity, and contributed to significant systemic changes.
His articles have been featured in publications that cover some high-profile
investigations both in India and internationally. 
 
Joseph was elected the political reporter of 2010 by the Prem Bhatia Trust and
awarded the Journalist of the Year in print media by the Ramnath Goenka Foundation
in 2013. He received the Crossword Book Award in 2018 for his most notable work, A
Feast of Vultures: The Hidden Business of Democracy in India and was also the
recipient of India Press Club of North America’s Madhyamasree Puraskaram. His
other works are The Silent Coup: A History of India’s Deep State and How to Subvert
a Democracy: Inside India’s Deep State.

ജോസി ജോസഫ്

ഇന്ത്യൻ അന്വേഷണാത്മക പത്രപ്രവർത്തകനും എഴുത്തുകാരനുമാണ് ജോസി ജോസഫ്. 1974 മെയ്‌ 6-ന് ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിലെ ചേർത്തലയിൽ ജനിച്ച അദ്ദേഹം അന്വേഷണാത്മക പത്രപ്രവർത്തന സംഘടനയായ ‘കൺഫ്ലൂയൻസ് മീഡിയ’യുടെ സ്ഥാപകൻ കൂടിയാണ്. ചേർത്തല എൻഎസ്എസ് കോളേജിൽ നിന്ന് മാത്തമാറ്റിക്സ്, ഫിസിക്സ്, സ്റ്റാറ്റിസ്റ്റിക്സ് എന്നിവയിൽ ബിരുദവും ജേർണലിസത്തിൽ ബിരുദാനന്തര ഡിപ്ലോമയും നേടി. 2007-ൽ ടഫ്റ്റ് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിലെ  ഫ്ലെച്ചർ സ്കൂൾ ഓഫ് ലോ ആൻഡ് ഡിപ്ലോമസിയിൽ ഗ്ലോബൽ മാസ്റ്റർ ഓഫ് ആർട്‌സ് എന്ന പ്രോഗ്രാമിൽ (ജിഎംഎപി) ഇന്റർനാഷണൽ റിലേഷൻസിൽ ബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദം കരസ്ഥമാക്കി. ഒ. പി ജിണ്ടാൽ യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിലെ ഫാക്കൽട്ടി കൂടിയാണ് ജോസി ജോസഫ്.

ജോസി ജോസഫിന്റെ റിപ്പോർട്ടുകളും ലേഖനങ്ങളും ജനാധിപത്യത്തെയും രാഷ്ട്രീയത്തെയും കുറിച്ചുള്ള വലിയ പൊതു താൽപ്പര്യവും സംവാദവും വളർത്തിയെടുക്കുകയും വ്യവസ്ഥാപിത മാറ്റങ്ങൾക്ക് കാരണമാവുകയും ചെയ്തു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ലേഖനങ്ങൾ ഇന്ത്യയിലും അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര തലത്തിലുള്ള പ്രസിദ്ധീകരണങ്ങളിലും ഇടംപിടിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

2010 ൽ പ്രേം ഭാട്ടിയ ട്രസ്റ്റ് ആ വർഷത്തെ പൊളിറ്റിക്കൽ റിപ്പോർട്ടറായി ജോസിയെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു. 2013-ൽ രാംനാഥ് ഗോയങ്ക ഫൗണ്ടേഷൻ ജേർണലിസ്റ്റ് ഓഫ് ദ ഇയർ (പ്രിന്റ് ) പുരസ്‌കാരം നൽകി ആദരിച്ചു. ‘എ ഫെസ്റ്റ് ഓഫ് വുൾച്ചേഴ്‌സ്’ എന്ന കൃതിക്ക് 2018-ൽ ക്രോസ്‌വേഡ് ബുക്ക് പുരസ്‌കാരം ലഭിച്ചു. 2019-ൽ ഇന്ത്യ പ്രസ്ക്ല ബ് ഓഫ് നോർത്ത് അമേരിക്കയുടെ മാധ്യമശ്രീ പുരസ്‌കാരം ലഭിച്ചു. ‘ദി സൈലന്റ് കോപ്പ് : എ ഹിസ്റ്ററി ഓഫ് ഇന്ത്യാസ് ഡീപ്
